FC Rubin reserves boss Roman Sharonov speaks after today's loss to FC Krylia Sovetov (0-2)
- In the first half, we were not consistent enough in defence in several situations which resulted in the goal conceded as we were not tough enough at the throw-in and allowed the opponent to take a shot. There was another chance for them after a cross where we were not consistent enough in marking. As for the rest, we were not bad in defence but as for our offensive performance it was not what we wanted in terms of finishing. Although we needed more shots and through balls, we reached a certain balance with a switch play and forward balls. Unfortunately, in the second half we were limited to forward balls only with less balance and as a result counter attacks were allowed. We should have converted our chances and been more aggresive and better when finishing. Unfortunately, we were not able to do it today.
- How would you assess our young defenders' performances against such offensive players as Azerbaijan international Ramil Sheydaev
- It's been a good experience both for Ilya Agapov and other defenders. Playing against experienced opponents creates good conditions for their growth.
